Advising

The mission of academic advising at 芒果77福利 is to assist students in identifying and exploring their intellectual, personal, and professional goals and in developing meaningful educational plans to attain these goals.

Academic advising is a collaborative endeavor in which relationships between students and their advisors are central. Advisors encourage students to reflect regularly upon their skills, interests, and goals, and to connect them to curricular and co-curricular opportunities at 芒果77福利. Advisors make every effort to convey an understanding of the value of a liberal arts education and provide accurate information about the curriculum and graduation requirements. Students should seek counsel from their academic advisors if they have questions or if they experience academic difficulties, and we encourage students to share their aspirations and successes.

Ultimately, academic advising seeks to prepare students for a lifetime of intellectual curiosity, self discovery, and fulfillment as thoughtful and involved citizens in a global society.

First-Year Advising

Each new student is assigned a faculty advisor when they begin at 芒果77福利. A first-year student's advisor is assigned based on their First-Year Seminar. In most cases, the First-Year Seminar instructor serves as a student's advisor.

Transfer students and international exchange students are assigned a faculty advisor by the Office of the Registrar based on their intended area of study.

Advising in the Major

By March of their second year, each student chooses a major field of study and an advisor in that field. The student completes the online form on the Office of the Registrar website. The Hubbard Center, advisors and faculty members, academic deans, and Office of the Registrar staff can assist students in choosing a major.
